Wheelchair Curling Open House

The Belfast Curling Club is excited to host a Wheelchair Curling Open House on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

This free event is designed specifically for people who use wheelchairs and offers a welcoming, low-pressure introduction to the sport of curling. No prior experience is required.

What to Expect
- Learn-to-Curl instruction oriented for wheelchair users
- Playing a few ends of an actual curling game
- Lunch provided (pizza, soft drinks, and snacks)
- Viewing of a Paralympic Wheelchair Curling game during lunch
- Optional additional curling time in the afternoon
- Coaches, volunteers, and shared equipment provided

No elite strength is required; participants should be able to grasp a curling delivery stick.

Schedule Overview
9:30 a.m. — Arrival & welcome
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. — Morning on-ice session
12:00–1:30 p.m. — Lunch & Paralympic
game viewing
1:30–3:30 p.m. (optional) — Additional on-ice time

Participants are welcome to attend for part or all of the day.
Participation is free, but space is limited to 16 wheelchair participants.
Registration is required.

Family members and friends are welcome to attend as observers from the warm room.
